Week 7: Week 7: When Life Pauses the Plan (And That’s Okay)A Designer’s Note One Room Challenge
Pantry Refresh
This week’s One Room Challenge update looks a little different and honestly, that’s the beauty of real life design.

Our new pantry light fixture finally arrived! But… it came damaged.Setback? Maybe.End of the world? Not at all.
After years of working on home renovation and refresh projects, I’ve learned that delays are part of the design journey. Deliveries get held up. Products arrive imperfect. Progress pauses.

But grace is part of the process.
Instead of letting frustration take over, I leaned into something more powerful—rest.
I took a few days off for a long-awaited mother-daughter getaway to Napa Valley.Breathtaking scenery. Unhurried time. Laughter. Good good it reminded me of this:
“Sometimes, the best design inspiration isn’t found in a showroom—it’s found in stillness.”

So while Week 7 didn’t bring the physical transformation I planned, it brought something even more valuable: perspective. The pantry will be complete for the ORC finale reveal—and I can’t wait to show you the final transformation. It’s a small space with a big purpose, and it’s becoming so much more than just storage—it’s a space for clarity, beauty, and function.

If you’re in the middle of a creative project, a renovation, or even a long to-do list…Remember: Pauses are not failures. They’re often the sacred space where something better is coming together.
Thank you for following along,
