Two Truths and Lie about Interior Design

"The details are not just details; they make the design." – Charles Eames

This famous quote by the modernist designer Charles Eames emphasizes the importance of details in creating cohesive and effective interior spaces. Attention to detail can transform a good design into a great one, as it's often the subtle elements that bring a space together, reflect personality, and enhance functionality.

Two Truths and a Lie about Interior Design:

1. Truth: The use of natural light is an essential factor in interior design, influencing mood, perception of space, and energy efficiency. Designers often incorporate large windows and strategic mirrors to maximize natural light.

2. Truth: The color scheme of a room can greatly affect the psychological well-being of its inhabitants. For example, blue is known to have a calming effect, making it ideal for bedrooms and bathrooms, while yellow can energize and uplift, perfect for kitchens and dining areas.

3. Lie: Open floor plans are outdated and no longer considered desirable in modern interior design.

In reality, open floor plans remain popular for their ability to create a sense of spaciousness and facilitate better interaction and flow within a home. While design trends may vary, open concepts continue to be sought after, especially in contemporary and minimalist designs.

This is wonderful and so true. I truly love the open space for a home especially the living room.
